Stylish Singapore SilverKris Lounge Heathrow
I fell behind somewhat on my mission to review every Star Alliance lounge in London’s Heathrow Terminal 2. This was the last one left – as I was in the midst of the series – Singapore Airlines closed the lounge for renovations for a 6 month period.
I’d as a matter of fact been through T2 several times since it reopened in August, but never made it. Last month, I was finally able to revisit.
In all, Singapore Airlines has done a great job of the refurb – with pleasant aesthetics in tune with the SQ brand and it’s home lounge refurbishments. It is fitted out with great furnishings, some spaces to meet/work and luxurious shower suites.
Location & Access
This SilverKris lounge is located in Heathrow Terminal 2’s B concourse, it is near gate B36 and adjacent to the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge I’d reviewed earlier.

The lounge is open from 05:30 to 22:00 hours
Eligibility
Entry is granted to
- First & Business Class customers
- PPS Club & KrisFlyer Elite Gold
- Star Alliance Gold Customers
Must be flying out with Singapore Airlines or Star Alliance partners on the day.
SilverKris Lounge Heathrow Layout
The lounge comprises of over 10,000 square feet with one main space with a little mini lounge within. The space is not large, and nor does it need to be. You will find all the modern facilities and comforts of a decent Business lounge.
You will find an elegant reception, where the staff will check you in..

There is a calm and welcoming atmosphere – you can see the mini room behind the etched glass here..

Note there is a separate First Class Lounge within the compounds that I will review in the future.
The Business lounge on the right has a further corridor lined with flowers..

You land onto the buffet area with dining tables. Past that, you will be in the main open plan room with several zones.
There is two parallel lines of table and chairs where you can work or eat..

with different seating choices in the middle of the lounge..

You have these stylish semi-private padded booths with a mini table and power sockets and your own lighting controls!

Singapore Airlines seems to call them Pods..

You will also find the more traditional leather chairs, each with side tables and charging connectivities and lamps..

The design theme very much sticks to earthy tones with several shades of grey and browns accented by soft lighting and vivid flowers and plants through-fully placed throughout..

For AvGeeks the place to sit would certainly be by the window – where we had a clear view of several widebody aircrafts from Turkish, Air Canada and United

The lounge was perhaps at 40% occupancy around 9:30 in the morning, but by 10:30, almost empty, shortly after a Turkish 777 departed.
At the back end of the lounge, you will find what looks like more work spaces with a little more privacy..

SilverKris Lounge London Bar
If you need fixing up with a drink – you will find the rather generous sized bar on one side of the lounge with full bartender service..

There is a Cocktail menu on display here – however you can order anything you like with an extensive selection of liquors and beers available for your pleasure..

Unfortunately, it was far too early for me to enjoy a Singapore Sling !
For convenience they even have some bar snacks available here too!

SilverKris Lounge Heathrow Food & Drinks
Breakfast was in full swing when I entered the lounge many guests eating by the tables here.
There is selection of fresh juices and flavoured water

And some fresh smoothies

Then there were the typical cereals, muesli, fruits and yogurts etc..

The hot dishes included all the British staples ..

and some Asian choices..

Around 11:20am they started switching over to lunch food..

Unfortunately, my flight was at 12:15 so I could not wait around to see what hot food items were bought out for lunch. At that precise moment, I was very much craving the classic Singapore Laksa , but alas it wasn’t to be that day !
SilverKris London Showers & Restrooms
Tucked in the other end corner, you will find the restroom and several shower suites. The showers need to be booked via an attendant at the front – there were several available at the time.
I asked just to have a look at one of them…

These were immaculate with marble finishings and bright, yet relaxed lighting.
The shower cubicle itself was a decent size with a rain shower as well as a handheld head.

They are fitted out with nice shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and lotions. Towels and additional amenities are provided when you book a shower.
Overall Thoughts
This almost concludes my Star Alliance lounge tours of Heathrow’s Terminal two. Other than a small sub-section of this lounge itself reserved for First Class guests – with a la carte dining.
This is yet another fine quality lounge in Heathrow’s T2 – even though, understandably it is a pared back offering from Singapore’s home lounges in Changi.
I perhaps now know why I have not gone out of my way to visit this space – as most my flights out of T2 have been mid-morning or midday flights, which predominantly falls within breakfast timeframe. Catering wise this lounge most likely excels later in the afternoon and evenings when you have some of the delicious signature dishes on offer that SQ is know for.
Have you been through this lounge in the evenings recently?Â
