Blown Away! British Airways Club Lounge Heathrow T5B
British Airways Club Lounge Heathrow T5B is an open secret of sorts for those that want to avoid the crowds of Galleries’ North and South Club lounges. Principally, it offers the same facilities and food as all Clubs.
BA Club Lounges in general maintains that peculiar airport atmosphere where everyone is simultaneously relaxed and anxious. Here you can perhaps expect less of the anxious.
This has been sitting on my to review list since 2022, but then that rolled well into 2023 when BA was in midst of welcome refurbishments, so I ultimately held back until I visited again. Yet, I was simply not prepared for just how much of a difference this makes to the perception of what a Club Lounge could be!
Access & Location
Located in Terminal 5’s satellite building, the location itself is the primary reason that makes this space great. Or at least better than the other Galleries Club options.
Getting here can present a challenge if you are pushed for time, have family and 3 kids to lug around with you or have any mobility issues yourself.
Because, this involves a little bit of walking after security, take the lifts down, getting on the transit trains heading to the satellite terminals for B & C gates.

Finally then taking lifts or escalators up again and some further walking and you will find it near gate B35.
Entry Eligibility

Entry to the Club Lounge is reserved:
- Business Class passengers
- Those with BA Club status of Silver or above flying oneworld ( practically this means just BA since all other oneworld airlines are based in T3 )
- oneworld Sapphire+ from other oneworld members flying
British Airways Club Lounge Heathrow T5B
Walking into this Club Lounge feels like entering a secret space others are not privy to. Familiar, yet more exclusive.
To the right of the reception you have a dining area and then work areas and loungers further back in…

You will find a cloakroom here also where you can keep your outer layers & baggage.

Further in you will find some high stool seating/work areas with a refreshment station

There is also a reception here

Followed by some chaise lounger chairs surrounded by plants

Straight on from reception you will find most of the food and refreshment areas with yet more seating and the tarmac views continues on that side.

You can help yourself to your favourite tipple here in the self service bar

Being that it is now British Summer time, we had a lovely setup with jugs of Pimm’s

This really was a great effort and lovely refreshing touch ! But there is more..
Whispering Angels Bar
Turn left from reception and you are in the Whispering Angels bar area, with yet more sparsely laid out seating arrangement creating that more relaxed vibe.

The space and position within the terminal enables great views of the tarmac, which is either delightfully aviation-nerdy or mind-numbingly industrial, depending on your disposition toward watching baggage carts perform their eternal dance.

Luckily for me, I fall firmly into the former camp. And a perfectly happy camper at that.

Baggage and catering trolley’s aside, nothing gets better than getting a close view of the huge GE or Rolls engines and landing gears. With a drink in hand off course !
Talking off, this area is dedicated to Whispering Angel wine..

You will find several buckets of them chilled in ice to help yourself to..

T5B Galleries Club Lounge Food
Aside from the Whispering Angel, the food and beverage offering are identical across all Heathrow Club lounges.
That said, the food area here is a little smaller than the others. Here were what was on offer in July 2025..

I have to say, I was somewhat impressed with the selection on offer. The smokey aubergine and goats cheese tarts were lovely..

And offering another classic British staple, the jumbo fish fingers were lightly battered and succulent inside..

Then the Spanish chicken, curries and vegetables were all on point !

The Turmeric rice was just gorgeously fluffy and went very well with the veg and curries..

In all I enjoyed a great lunch here and ending up eating way more food than I thought I would.
Is it me, or has British Airways Club lounges catering improved significantly? This was certainly a step up from the usual tasteless curries, con carne and pre-made sandwiches with the structural integrity of wet cardboard.
At least the soups, salads and nibbles such as cheese and crackers are consistent 🙂
T5 Club Lounge Other Facilities
WiFi
Fast enough to live stream your disappointment about the sandwich selection to the world. Connects reliably, which in airport terms means it’s basically magic.
Business Facilities
Printing facilities and workstations are supposedly available – though I did not see them. There are also power outlets scattered throughout.
Bathrooms & Showers
Several clean, well-maintained, and stocked with Elemis soap & lotion that doesn’t make you question life choices…

The real MVP of the lounge experience right here !
Finally there is also a dedicated Kids playroom here..

You can lock away the little munchkins here to enjoy the free flowing drinks while gazing at planes or people watching in the terminal below !
Overall Thoughts
I passed through this lounge in 2022 and thought it was so much better than the other Club Lounges, but the visit this month has surprisingly impressed me even more so!
For once, I can actually say, BA does offer a decent Business Class lounge experience in Heathrow with solid food, wonderful staff and a little respite from the crowds – you just have to be willing to take your time to get to it !
In my 3 hour later afternoon/early evening visit, there were at most 20 other passengers here. Making the ambiance here better than the Galleries First Lounge and indeed the Concorde Room & some First Class lounges worldwide !
BA’s lounge refurbishment programme has paid off here. The décor is that of poised calm and modernity, and strikes that peculiarly British balance between “we have standards” and “but we’re not particularly showing off about it.”
This is the best Business Class lounge in Terminal 5, but still you should taper your expectation, don’t come here looking for vintage champagne, you will receive a perfectly adequate Prosecco ! Next time you fly out of T5, this is well worth the trek even if your flight leaves from A gates, the 10-15 minutes backtrack is well worth it!
