Foodie Heaven: Adani Business Lounge Mumbai International
I recently flew out of Mumbai for the very first time, and as I usually do, then did so twice in the same week ! The revamped Mumbai Airport Terminal 2 offers several lounges, where the Adani Group has firmly stamped its mark on India’s lounge scene. Known for offering both standard and premium lounges, they’ve set a high bar for luxury and hospitality.
Mumbai Airport Terminal 2 domestic area also has a Adani Lounge, but this is one of two exclusive Business Class+ lounges, specifically the Adana Lounge – West Wing. Plush interiors, modern décor, and an incredible focus on comfort make this a standout space.
If you’re a fan of authentic Indian cuisine, prepare yourself for an unforgettable culinary treat!
Lounge Location & Access
After clearing First & Business Class security, head straight through duty-free. As you approach the gate numbers, follow the signs and turn right.
You’ll find the entrance to the Adani Lounge near Gate 85.
Access & Eligibility
This lounge caters exclusively to international travellers holding Business or First Class tickets. Airlines like Cathay Pacific, Etihad, and Singapore Airlines use the space.
You’ll be informed at check-in whether your designated lounge is the West Wing or the equally premium East Wing Lounge.
This lounge does not partner with any global contract lounge schemes – so you are out of luck if your airline does not specifically provide invitations.
Adani Business Lounge Mumbai – West Wing
Once inside you will be greeted by a striking reception area where professional and welcoming staff will check you in and offer an orientation of the lounge – should you need it.
Unfortunately, I could not take a picture of the reception itself, with several guests and staff around, there wasn’t a chance!
Just pass the reception, there is a little refreshment area with some artwork and flight screens.
This area also features a cabinet showcasing the lounge’s impressive array of awards, earned during its previous life as the renowned GVK Lounge…
As you walk in a sense of luxury envelopes you..
With plush seating options, ambient lighting, and elegant chandeliers, the space is thoughtfully divided into cosy, living-room-style clusters, each designed for relaxation.
You will find a few different types of seating lined along the window – which during provide excellent plane spotting opportunities..
The lounge unfolds into additional rooms on the left side, offering ample space to unwind without feeling crowded.
I liked the stylised decorative room dividers – reflective of the styles you will find in various aspects of Indian designs, be that garments or ground transport within the sub-continent..
There is a little room/section that feels like a little library with a cabinet that could contain lots of books but instead has a few items decorative features, then randomly mini bottled waters and then a sparse selection of newspapers..
There are then yet more intimate seating areas with semi private booth arrangements..
Adani Mumbai Bar
No premium lounge is complete without a stellar bar, and the Adani Lounge delivers.
The sleek, grand bar serves an extensive selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, crafted by attentive staff to your exact preference.
While seating at the bar is somewhat limited, the quality of service more than compensates.
Adani Mumbai Sohum Wellness Spa
For those seeking relaxation beyond a good chair, the in-house Sohum Spa awaits at the far end of the lounge.
Depending on your airline, complimentary treatments may be included, or you can opt for a paid service.
The treatments and pricing was as follows:
The spa’s location ensures tranquillity, far removed from the bustling catering areas.
Showers & Restrooms @ Adani Mumbai
The showers, located near the spa, are decent but fall slightly short of the lounge’s otherwise high standards.
While functional, they lack the pristine upkeep and luxurious feel seen in lounges from Cathay, Qatar, or Singapore Airlines.
Towels and amenities are available on request. Mumbai is surprisingly humid even in December – so I did have a quick shower to freshen up again and I found the water pressure to be very good.
There are additional restrooms available on the other end of the lounge.
Adani Business Lounge Mumbai Food + Drinks
The real star of the Adani Business Lounge is its food and beverage offering. The variety and quality are outstanding, with a strong focus on Indian cuisine complemented by international options.
Whether you’re in the mood for a full meal, a light snack, or just dessert, the buffet will leave you more than satisfied.
The decorate theme continues even with the buffet stations itself..
There are a good selection of light bites from wraps, mini sandwiches and sushi..
and an impressive array of dips and roasted veg selection..
Then you have a wide selection of hot meal options, which would take you at least 3 different meal times to sample properly !
The western options here was a Semolina Gnocchi with Tomato Sauce and Pasta Alfredo
If you are a fan – you will be more overpowered and drawn to the tantalizing Indian dishes. The aroma of all these dishes were just incredible..
There was the Paneer Tika Lababdar
then Methi Machli Tamatar
then Sarson Ka Saag & Dal Pahadi..
It was tricky to take clear shots of the food itself as most of them were sizzling hot and steamed up the camara lenses on opening the lids !
You will also find some South East Asian dishes such as Nyonya chicken curry
Dining areas include a cafeteria-style setup or the flexibility to enjoy your meal in any of the lounge’s seating zones.
Work + WiFi
For an international lounge I surprisingly did not find any dedicated work-spaces or business facilities.
WiFi connectivity options – is something I have a major gripe with here and appears to be a problem with all Indian airports and lounges – and I simply do not understand why they like to make this so difficult!?
Not only was I not offered/informed about WiFi facility on entry, after enquiring about it with staff – I was given a sort of a voucher code to connect to Wifi. That “voucher” then appeared to have limited data and I was disconnected in less than an hour !
Overall Thoughts
This is a fantastic Business class lounge that looks to be well run and managed. It is a comfortable space to relax for a few hours, enjoy some drinks and food and even get a massage.
Given the number of different airlines using it – the crowding levels appeared to be well within the space limits which helped maintain a good ambience. The deco and furniture is already a number of years old and would need replacing in a couple of years. I trust this would happen – if they are to keep maintaining the lounge as a premium offering.
The only area I feel is substantially subpar is the whole WiFi provisions. If anyone can shed some light on why Indian airports insist on making WiFi access so problematic – please leave a comment !
The real highlight of this lounge is the catering – it was simply superb. It equals or maybe better’s the high end Encalm Prive lounge offering in Delhi.
I wish I could stay for longer for another meal time – because I in-fact was saving myself for dinner at the First Class lounge – within the same compounds ! This review will be coming soon !
