Great Space: United Club LAX

The United Club LAX Lounge is a behemoth, spanning 29,000 square feet with commanding views. It’s no surprise, considering that United Airlines has a massive hub in Los Angeles Terminal 7.

Not all United Clubs are equal, this particular lounge just feels better designed. An expansive, open space that seamlessly flows from one chic, minimalist seating area to another, culminating in a sleek bar at the far end. It affords great views all over and a delightful outdoor terrace as a cherry on the top!

United Club LAX Reception

After going past the reception where staff check you in, you have to take these long escalators up..

United Club LAX Escalators Up

Straight up the first thing you see is this well thought out refreshments area with cold juices, tea/coffees and some fruits..

United Club LAX Landing Area

Then you turn left into the main lounge area which is one long space with full floor to ceiling window views!

United Club LAX Main Open Plan Area

Everything here is minimal with a good dose of United Blues complemented by the grey leather seating and yellow hues of the lamp creating a more relaxing vibe.

There are restrooms on the other side of this space. As you continue walking in you will find some partitioned areas if you want to sit somewhere to work/without facing anyone else..

United Club LAX Blue Screen Dividers

There are then more refreshment areas with more snacks and a row of flight display screens

United Club LAX Flight Screens

Immediately after this you have the self service buffet area and then more spaces around the bar..

United Club LAX Seating Area Near Bar

Where ever you chose to sit, there are side consoles and power outlets ( in most places )

Right past the bar you have a smaller room very good views of aircraft in the tarmac..

United Club LAX Lounging With Views

This space felt somewhat more quiet. These leather swivel chairs are as stylish as they are comfortable. However while most seating spaces had accessible power outlets, there weren’t any in the middle for those chairs..

Perhaps not the biggest of deals as you have work area right behind the wall with sock galore. The view out though, is certainly worth swooning over..

United Club LAX Catering

I arrived at this lounge slightly past 9:30 am for a later morning flight and thus the catering was breakfast.

The self service catering area is one long space along the back of the lounge pretty much running parallel to the bar. What the meant was you won’t likely be bumping into other folks as much.

I’ll cover the main highlights of the offering, starting with some fruits..

United Club LAX Fruit Baskets

followed by cut pineapple, melons, blueberries and various condiments you can make a continental breakfast of sorts with..

United Club LAX Fruits

To go with that, you have plain yogurt, low fat Greek yogurt and then some overnight oats and Egg salad all added into the mix

United Club LAX Breakfast Yogurts & Spreads

You also have some hot cooked oats within the Oatmeal bar area

United Club LAX Oatmeal Breakfast Bar

There were various pastries, muffins and bagels

United Club LAX Muffins & Bagels

and finally perhaps the main hot dish was a make your own breakfast burrito

United Club LAX Breakfast Burrito

There was a good guacamole mix here as one of the condiments.

I had some fruits and then made myself a breakfast Burrito which I very much enjoyed!

United Club Los Angles Bar

The bar itself is centre piece of the back side of the lounge and it again had a stylish look with the oval ceiling area marking it’s perimeter within..

United Club LAX Bar

Being reasonably early in the morning there were no many passengers using the bar. But I did have a soft drink there however.

United Club LAX Bar Area

As usual with other United Club and Delta SkyClub bars, only select soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are free. Anything else more premium you have to pay for. Unfortunately they do not seem to have a fixed menu for this.

United Club Lax Outdoor Terrace

The best feature of this lounge may just be this, it has a outdoor terrace! When I ventured out into it, there were a few people there so I decided not to take any pictures as I didn’t want to capture them.

I then forgot to go back for pictures but here is what they look like courtesy of LoungeIndex:

United Club LAX Outdoor Terrace

I can imagine this would be a very nice space to relax/have a drink out over sunset!

Overall Thoughts

I had an enjoyable time here in this lounge and it honestly felt a world away from some of the other lounges I’ve been in like the Club in Denver or many Delta SkyClubs. I think they may be one of the best United Club lounges alongside the newly renovated United Club Chicago, which I briefly visited earlier in the year too.

The main difference in why this is a more relaxing lounge compared to some Delta SkyClub may be that United even restricts Domestic First Class customers from access this!
