I’ve been wondering when we might start to see reasonable premium fares out of the UK again. Things have been rather crazy to say the least with prices usually double pre-covid levels. Demand might be back to where it was pre-2020, if not exceeding that.
Airline routes/frequencies and staffing levels are not quite there to cope yet, So it’s a pleasant surprise to see British Airways Sale Spring 2023 revealing some notable offers worth exploring ! If you’ve been holding out on planning a trip, now may be the time to make some concrete bookings !
While this sale is not as broad as previous sales before, there are some fantastic prices to the States, with a headline offer of upto %30 off Club World fares to USA.
Some of the standout deals are:
New York: £1329
Chicago/Boston/Toronto: £1378
Washington DC: £1455
San Francisco/Houston: £1695
Vancouver/Orlando/Dallas: £1997
Availability is limited to certain periods, so be quick before they are booked up!
British Airways now has a decent business product, and even makes it into my Top 10 Business Class airlines. Pick the updated 777s or A350s where you can!
The dates and conditions to keep in mind:
Must book from 2 March 2023 to 21 March 2023 23:59 GMT
14 day advance purchase with at least a Saturday night stay.
All promotional fares must be non-refundable
All journeys must start and end in UK.
Alongside these premium flight deals, there are also options to book a holiday package with a hotel for 4/5 nights on top for not much more..
For the New York/Chicago example you can book a 4 night holiday for just ££1459 which is a fantastic price!
In case of Vancouver you can book a 5 night hotel package with luxury flights for just £2099. Which is only a £100 more per person for a decent hotel option.
As usual the caveat with holiday bookings are you are booking for 2. So for solo travellers these may not be such a deal and better just to book the flights! Remember you can book BA holidays with just a low deposit, and now can even use your Avios towards your deposit!
You can find all deals and book directly on British Airways site
British Airways tend to follow a pattern of having launching sales are specific times of the year with specific events and holiday periods. But they can vary year to year.

These are some very decent fares out of the UK in Business Class considering where prices have been for the last 2 years.
What makes them even more compelling is that at those prices, I would consider cash fares to be better value than using your Avios.
For example for an award ticket to New York and back would cost you 160,000 Avios + £350, with the flight reward level pricing. This I would value at £1950 at least! So cash fares are around £600 cheaper if you value your Avios for 1p in other scenarios where a sale price is not available.
The above does not even take into account the fact that you’ll earn a bunch of Avios for the cash fare!
Off course if you have an upgrade voucher or Amex Voucher, than it could still be worth redeeming them if you can! I have just not been able to find any availability for any routes I’m interested in for months, so a good thing I still have over 20 months my current vouchers.
