While New Zealand is pretty much shut off to the rest of the world at the moment, it’s one of those destinations where you would plan many months ahead for. I visited this lounge back in January and was pleasantly surprised, specifically that this is the domestic lounge, and it’s way nicer than the international one.
The lounge is located in level 2 of the south-west pier. After check-in, you proceed to the left towards gates 13-17. The lounge is located before security.
You will have invitation if flying Air New Zealand or Singapore Business Class on the day. I was flying Singapore Airlines
Due to restrictions on international security ( therefore access to international lounges ) being available only 75min before departure, I made my way there for about an hour.
As well as having access to printers/copiers they have a space dedicated for people who want do some work.
The Lounge has a very relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff dotted around. In the one hour or so that I spent there, it did not get busy at all.
I like the diner like seating options when I was able to enjoy a barista made coffee and work on my laptop for a bit.
My mid morning visit was out of any specific meal times. However, there was still a decent selection of bites and beverages available.
This is a very decent offering by Air New Zealand. I’m unsure if they provide more substantial meal options during the evenings or morning, for a mid-day visit it was more than adequate food wise and has good Wifi to just catch up on some work.
